Ethyl Maltol

Ethyl maltol is a flavor enhancer and sweetener, which is often used for sweetening liquids, or for rounding off tart flavors. Ethyl maltol itself has a taste of caramel or cotton candy.

It is present in crystalline form, and is optionally prepared in a 10% solution of ethyl alcohol or warmed Propylenglycohol.

Pre-mixed ethyl maltol can be found in our aroma Section: Cotton Candy (cotton candy). This is 10% ethyl maltol dissolved in PG.

Um erst einmal mit den weit verbreiteten Urban Legends aufzuräumen: Ethyl Maltop kann nicht als Süßungsmittel im eigentlichen Sinn angesehen werden. Ethyl Maltop ist ein Aroma und gleichzeitig für bestimmte Aromen ein Aromaverstärker. Süße Aromen werden durch EM nicht unerträglich. EM rundet süße oder fruchtige Aromen ab. Keine Angst vor diesem Stoff, er ist einfach ge**. Er kann selbst einigermaßen zerschossene Liquids wieder auf die Spur bringen,
